Been an awfully busy two weeks with back to back trips to Las Vegas with two days between them. Was hoping to get more time to post stuff regarding my first visit and then post about my second so things would appear sequentially. Because I just had such a terrible experience at Wynn/Encore thought I would go ahead and post about the week before with the guys and the El Cortez.
As normal we took the 8:00pm direct flight out of San Antonio and Arrived in Vegas at around 9:00pm local time. We got our baggage and headed to the airport car rental facility. Went to Main Street Casino to drop off some friends and then headed to the Ole' Cortez. Checked in and ran luggage over to the room in the new Cabana Suites. Very nice, but Lime Green (at least my room was).
The bathroom was small but the shower was oversized. Very nice showers with excellent shower heads. For the amount of time spent in the room is a good deal.
So being new what, if any, problems were there?
1) The IPOD docking station would not accept my IPOD touch for recharging or playing.
2) The TV was limited to local channels + HBO and Showtime (no in room movies). I usually like to take 1
day and go back to the room early and get room service and watch a movie. Ended up spending more time out this trip because of the lack of movies.
3) No desk nor comfortable chairs. The modern style chair (white thing in the bottom right of the picture on the left) was not comfortable to sit in to watch TV and I don't like to sit in the bed to watch.
4) Only a small thin sheet on the bed. No blankets. Granted when we were there it was still over 100 degrees outside, but at night with the AC on 72 degrees it got pretty chilly and I personally like to cover up and not lay out uncovered.
I will write more later, but for now I have this article sitting as a place holder before I start writing about the Wynn/Encore.
